My dream is to use the power of creativity to reach those who would not otherwise hear or understand the good news

At the age of 20, one of my best friends, Carl, took me to church and it blew my mind.

6 years later I decided that I wanted to work for the church and be a part of sharing with others the transforming life in Jesus which I found myself all those years ago.

Since then I have served and worked with a bunch of churches in the UK, USA and Australia. My work has spanned social media, video, graphic design, motion design, screen graphics and photo (and I even led audiovisual production at a couple of churches too).

My most recent church work has been with MOSAIC Church in Los Angeles, and working for Divine Persuasion Studio, a design studio for churches.

social media vertical video

Through platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, I have seen my own Christian content reach millions of people. While it is one of the greatest challenges for churches in 2024, I believe it is also one of the greatest opportunities we have ever had as the church to connect large numbers of people to Jesus. You can see more of my social media work on this page here.

You can find more of my work from Mosaic on the Reels, Photo and Motion Design pages. Much of the work I did was either part of a program of videos which is still unreleased or in which I played a smaller role not worth sharing here. However if you are interested in some of the graphic design work I did, check out our 2022 Christmas branding for which I drafted the original concept.

PRE-RECORDED SERVICES

While I was involved at points in live-streaming services, since at the time I worked for two church plants (St Peter’s Vauxhall and New Street Falmouth) with limited resources and team members, we opted to produce pre-recorded services since it guaranteed us higher quality. Below are a few examples of the services I produced:

New Street Pre-Recorded Service

One of the final services I produced for New Street, this features filmed sequences in the church including worship and quite a bit of motion design work:

St Peter’s Pre-Recorded Contemporary Service

This church had a traditional service in the morning and a contemporary service in the afternoon, which called for two very different styles. This was the final contemporary service I produced for St Peter’s.

Watch out for a very awkward me hosting at the beginning of the service… it clearly wasn’t quite my natural calling 😁

[Just a heads up: you will have to watch this directly on YouTube since it has copywrited music that can’t be embedded… oops!]

St Peter’s Pre-Recorded Traditional Service

This service is a completely different style to the two above and catered to the needs of a traditional congregation:

STAND ALONE VIDEOS

Below are a couple of videos I made in addition regular Sunday service work. For the second video here, I was recognised for my editing work at New Street and was hired to edit a promotional video for the wider project of which New Street was a part in the Anglican Church in Cornwall.

St Peter’s Advent Video “Light in the Darkness”

We made this video with the community at St Peter’s to encourage people during a time that had been deeply tough for so many. It involved pulling together a lot of people from the church and finding locations that demonstrated our area plus a few more creative elements within the church:

Transforming Mission 2021 Update

For this video I was asked to edit together videos sent to me as updates from different churches within the wider project. I ended up being able to film some of these myself and also updated the motion design provided to me from previous videos for the same project for the new video:

KIDS VIDEOS

Ok this was a fun opportunity! While I was working at New Street I got the chance to produce a series of kids videos which were a totally different style to the services (and definitely helped me build skills for vlogging later on). I wanted them to be as engaging and colourful as I could make them. My good friend Charlotte, a natural born presenter, hosted them all. You can find the series here (it’s the first four videos in the playlist).

NS KIDS I am: In Control

This was the final video we made in the series and it was made to be watched by kids in and out of our church and teach them about Jesus.

CAMERA OPERATOR WORK

While in Cornwall, I was very blessed to be connected to Engine House Church, a Pentecostal church which has had great success evangelising in Cornwall. While I originally went there for a production tour to see whether we had the resources to replicate their livestream, I immediately started that first week as a camera operator and progressed to their Glide-cam roaming rigs on which I remained one of the operators until I left the country.

This also connected me to the amazing Sarah Yardley, who managed then to find me a role as the main broadcast camera operator at CreationFest, Cornwall’s largest Christian festival, run by Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa from California.

Engine House Livestream

This is an example of a live stream with which I was involved as a roaming camera operator at Engine House.

As a team we also served at other events such as this event for the G7 where the service was conducted outside in beautiful St Ives

Creation Fest 2021

And here is an example of some of the broadcast camera work I was involved with at Creation Fest:
